The Counts of the Count of Orgaz
The Count of Orgaz. A novel from the borderline of two realities - the novel by Roman Jaworski published in 1925.
Jaworski's historical-fabulous novel is maintained in a catastrophic tone resulting from the experiences of the First World War. The plot of the novel is two billionaires, Havemeyer and Yetmeyer, who want to play the role of savior of mankind.
The novel contains parodies and to the youth of modernism, popular literature, and the themes of European culture (the title character refers to the image of the funeral of the Count of Orgaz by El Greco). There is a grotesque and aesthetics of ugliness. In the linguistic sphere are used elaborate constructions as well as dialectic and neologisms. The poetics of the book is similar to the novel by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz. Bibliography
