Ryszard Zuber

Ryszard Zuber (fr. Richard Zuber) (born August 19, 1943 in Czortków) - French linguist and logician. Curriculum vitae

Son of Bronisław Zuber and Julia from Łyszegów. After completing his studies in mathematics and philosophy at the University of Wroclaw, he worked as an assistant to mathematics. In 1967 he emigrated to France, where he began studying mathematical linguistics at the University of Vincennes (Paris 8), where he obtained a doctorate in linguistics in 1972. He is currently a retired director of the Center for Linguistic Research at the Center national de la recherche scientifique, he also holds a PhD in logic, which he obtained in 1975 after defending his work at Université de Paris V and obtained the title doctorat d'État at Université Paris Sorbonne.

He was interested in the properties of the logical-deductive system, which defines and justifies the relations between language expressions that are not in the same grammatical category, while maintaining the principle of intensionality and presupposition. His last and most important work focuses on formal semantics and on algebraic structures derived from natural languages and the properties of logical functions denoting language expressions. The works of Ryszard Zuber showed that the concept of conservatism, which regulates the ability of denotation, is not limited by any determinant and can be extended to a higher order function, because it refers to the infinite anaphora and gradation.

He is the father of composer Karol Beff. Bibliography
