Herb Nortorfu Another version of the Nortorf coat of arms

Nortorf's coat is triangular, divided into a belt with an upper belt shared in the pole. In the upper heraldic right field on the silver (white) background blue gear. In the upper left field on a blue background gold bunch of five ears and four leaves. In the lower field on the red background, sitting on a silver horse with a golden harness, the figure of Saint Martin in a silver dress and a cloak, with a silver sword in raised right and lowered with his left hand. The horse with his right leg up to the right, Saint Martin turned to the right. On the horse in a recumbent position on the ground, facing the right side, half-naked beggars outstretched with hands embracing the dress of the saint. The legs are based on a gold wheel. In a different version of the coat of arms, the gear is silver, and the crest is crowned with a silver corona muralis with three towers and a red gate in the middle.

It is interesting to present a horse with both legs raised simultaneously.

Nortorf is one of the oldest parishes in Holstein. The church of St. Martin existed here probably in the middle of the twelfth century. The figure of the saint on the coat of arms refers to this patron. Its reproduction can already be reprinted on the 1631 seals. Earl are referred to agriculture as a historical source of income, and a gearwheel for the development of modern shopping mall and industrial. The colors of blue-silver-red are the colors of the country of Schleswig-Holstein. Bibliography
