Charlot Cabanis
Charlot Cabanis - German architect and civil servant working in the first quarter of the twentieth century in Wroclaw.
At the beginning of his career he worked in Berlin as an architect and a royal building councilor. Since 1903 he lived and worked in Wrocław, where he was employed as a construction inspector in the northern part of the city. He worked closely with the architects in charge of the municipal building councilor: Richard Plüddemann and Max Berg. During his work in the municipality he participated in the design of several important public utility buildings, which were invested by the city:
He also participated in the design of the exhibition grounds prepared for the Centennial Exhibition in 1913. The most important work in his career is the building of the Higher School for Girls. Empress of Victoria, built in 1906-09, now houses the No. 1 high school. In his work, he used simplified historical forms, also referring to the "native style" which derives from the traditional Silesian architecture. Literature
