Vladimir Karavayev
Vladimir Mikhailovich Karavayev (born 1903 in Łysiav, died in July 1982 in Ukraine) is a NKVD leitman, one of the performers of the Katyn massacre. From 1924, a member of the RKP (b) / WKP (b), from 1932 in the OGPU, on August 22, 1938 was appointed junior lieutenant, soon after the state security leotard. From 1940, a member of the Smolensk Oblast NKVD, a participant in the mass murder of Polish prisoners of war in Katyn, was rewarded on October 26, 1940 by the Interior Commissioner of the USSR Lavrentija Beria.
