Stanisław Hurenko


April 29, 1936 in Kiev) - Ukrainian and Soviet politician, last president of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Ukraine (KP (b) U) (1990-1991).

He came from the Donbas teacher family, graduated in 1958 from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. An engineer, then a senior engineer, from 1963 to 1964 a senior lecturer at the Donetsk Polytechnic Institute. Since 1976 the secretary of the Communist Party of Donetsk, 1980-1987 the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers of the SRR, since 1987 the secretary of KP (b) U, and from 22 June 1990 to 1 September 1991 the first secretary of this party. Member of the committee on the Chernobyl disaster. In the years 1991-1998 the scientific consultant of NWK "Energia". Deputy Director of NPP "Beta-3", chief advisor of the Board of Ukrinbank, deputy director of the company "Nawasko". Since March 1990 a deputy to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (in January 1993 resigned his mandate). In the years 1998-2002 and 2002-2006 again deputy to the Verkhovna Rada, from the list of Communist Party of Ukraine, adviser to the Central Committee KPU. In the years 1998-2000 Chairman of the Commission for Economic Policy, Economic Management, Real Estate and Investment, then a member of this commission. Since May 2002 he has been a member of the Communist Faction in the Parliament.
