SCR-536

American soldier with walkie-talkie SCR-536

SCR-536 - a walkie-talkie radio station (named after the "hand-talkie") of the American company Galvin Manufacturing Corporation (from 1947 Motorola), constructed by Polish engineer Henryk Magnuski. The radio entered the United States Armed Forces in July 1941. In 1943, it was replaced by a backpack radio SCR-300, which remained in the US Army until the end of World War II.

The SCR-536 radio did not include a switch - it turned on by pulling out the antenna. Powered by two 1.5 V BA-37 dry batteries, the half-duplex radio provided effective and secure (amplitude modulation) communications at the plutonium and company level, was easy to use (push button system) and resistant to harsh weather conditions (withstands short immersion in water).

Around 130,000 pieces were produced. Technical data
