Saint Adalbert op. 71

Sanctus Adalbertus op. 71 (colloquially: Big Wojciech, in contrast to Little Wojciech, or op. 72 Salve, Sidus Polonorum) - oratorio by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki for soprano, baritone, mixed choir and orchestra formed in 1997-1998.

The work was created on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of the location of Poznań in 1998, but its implementation did not take place due to the illness of the author. Then the song was lost and nothing more was known about its existence, except that it was created. After Górecki's death in 2010, his son found his complete score in the objects left by the author. The adaptation of the piece was made by Marcin Masecki in cooperation with Jerzy Rogiewicz. The premiere performance took place at the Jesuit church in Poznań on November 5, 2016 as part of the Nostalgia festival and the celebration of the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland.
