Latin Codex 3868

Vatican II Codex Vaticanus Latinus 3868, also called Terenjus Vaticanus (Terentius Vaticanus) - a 9th century illuminated manuscript containing Terence's comedies. It is in the collection of the Vatican Library.

The manuscript was compiled between 822 and 856 in the Corfan of Corvey by a scribe named Hrodegarius and decorated by several illuminators, one of which was signed by Adelricus. The miniatures are stylistically related to late-period painting from the 4th-5th century. Individual comedies are preceded by fronts with masks depicting individual dramatis persons.
