Huts (Fish Creek Valley)

Huts - a small glade in the Rybie Potok Valley in the Polish High Tatras, located in the woods on the Oswald Balzer Way above Włosienica, on the slope below the Opal. It was located at the height of about 1340-1390 m. Formerly it was a pastoral of glade belonging to Hali Morskie Oko. At the beginning of the glade there were sheep, there was a hut and hence the name of the glade. Sheeps were only grazed in the spring, then were driven to the Valley after the monk. Only cow and lamb were kept in her pasture.

After the creation of the Tatra National Park the grazing was lifted. It has been used for a long time as a summer camp for PZA tents.

Myrmex Indikos, pol. Indian ant - an alleged species of gigantic ants (according to Herodot's description, larger than foxes, but smaller than dogs). The earliest mention of these creatures is dated to the fifth century BC, and its author is Herodotus. According to her, these ants inhabited the deserts of Persia and India and extracted gold from their sands. Several such creatures were kept in the residence of the King of Persia. Gold was to be obtained by caravans made up of several camels in the heat of the day, when the ants were protected underground.
