Battle of Odolion

Battle of Odolion - August 14, 1920, a decisive takeover took place during the Soviet offensive at Płock-Włocławek-Toruń. After the capture of the city of Nieszawa, troops of Russian soldiers set off for Odolion and Ciechocinek. Mikhail Tuchaczewski, the principal commander of the North-West Front, was cutting off Poland from access to the sea, moving along the left bank of the Vistula River. This plan was thwarted by one subdivision of Polish soldiers sent by General Edmund Hauser - commander of the Warren Camp "Toruń". In this battle, the Soviets, having suffered a severe defeat, resigned from the planned assault on Ciechocinek - despite the fact that the unit was standing in front of the city - never entered it. They only managed to blow up the railway tracks between Ciechocinek and Aleksandrow Kujawski, confusing them with the Włocławek - Toruń line.

The Soviets retreated to Nieszawa, crossed the Vistula and went to Bobrownik. "Day 14 August is the only day in the Bolshevik twist when the Russians were on the left bank of the Vistula"
