Julian Kołaczkowski
Julian Kołaczkowski (born 1837 in Nowy Sacz, died September 23, 1889 in Lviv) is a Polish railway engineer, art historian, collector.
He graduated from the Technical University of Vienna and then went on a scientific journey in Germany, Switzerland and Italy. He received his engineering post at the construction of the Charles Ludwig Railway, and later on the construction and extension of the railway network in East Galicia. One of his passions was collecting information related to the history of technology and industry in Polish lands. In 1880 he published "The Message of Former Manufacturers in Poland", a compendium of information about former factories, their owners, and production in the form of a census. Other publications included "News about factories and handicrafts in former Poland", "About architects and builders in former Poland" and published in 1888 "News about industry and art in former Poland". Julian Kołaczkowski was also a prominent bibliophile, created a library of four thousand books, five thousand prints and as many autographs. It rests on Lychakiv Cemetery. Bibliography
