Diapason

Diapason - a French geodetic satellite, placed on orbit on February 17, 1966 by a Diamant A rocket that took off from the Hamakir spaceport in Algeria. After finding himself in orbit, he received the designation COSPAR 1966-013A. It was the second French artificial satellite that was in orbit. Geodetic measurements were made by using the Doppler effect of radio waves, as well as photographing satellites on the background of stars. The satellite has been in operation for five years and is still in orbit. Bibliography
