Amos is one of the dialects of the BASIC programming language used in Amiga computers, created by Europress Software. Its creators were François Lionet and Constantin Sotiropoulos. The first version of Amos appeared in 1990.
Amos was mainly used for creating games and educational programs. Because of its simplicity, it was one of the more popular programming languages for this platform.
The original version of Amos was only an interpreter, later a compiler of this language was created.

The development version of this language has been called Amos Professional and has already allowed writing compatible with the Amiga operating system.
Amos clone was even created for other platforms called Alvyn BASIC.
