Wilhelm Fuchs


Wilhelm Fuchs (born September 1, 1898, died on January 24, 1947) - Nazi criminal, Higher SS and Police Commander in the "Mitte" region, commander Einsatzgruppe A and Einsatzgruppe "Serbien" and SS-Oberführer.

A member of the NSDAP and SS, in June 1942 he became the commander of the SS and the Police on the Third Reich occupied by the Third Reich (based in Riga). Then from June 8, 1943 to September 15, 1943, he was the Senior Commander of the SS and Police in the "Mitte" region (based in Braunschweig). September 15, 1943 Fuchs became commander of Einsatzkommando 3, and from May to October 1944 he commanded Einsatzgruppe A. Then he was transferred to Yugoslavia, where he headed the Einsatzgruppe "Serbian" (also called Einsatzgruppe E). Responsible for the numerous crimes committed on the civilian population of the occupied territories.

On November 9, 1944, Fuchs became the head of the SD and Security Police (Sipo) of the "Ostland" region. He was arrested by the Allies and released to the Yugoslav authorities. The Supreme Military Tribunal in Belgrade sentenced Fuchs to death on December 22, 1946. The verdict was carried out by hanging in January the following year.
