Max Beier


Max Walter Peter Beier (born 1903, died 1979) is an Austrian entomologist and arachnologist specializing in brushcutters.

He was born on 6 April 1903 in Spittal an der Drau. He studied zoology at the University of Vienna. After graduating in 1927, he found employment at the Natural History Museum in Vienna. In the years 1963-68 he was the director of the department of zoology. He was a very productive researcher. His work covers about 400 works, 250 of which are related to brushes. He was also a specialist in mantis. He died on June 4, 1979 in Vienna.
