Krzysztof Owczarek


Krzysztof Owczarek (born January 15, 1942 in Piotrków Trybunalski) is a brigadier general of the Polish Army.

In September 1961, he joined the Polish Academy of Sciences in Legnica, where he became the commander of the infantry platoon in the 12th regiment of the KBW in the rank of lieutenant. From 1967 he was an instructor of the political section of the 41st Mechanized Regiment in Szczecin (12th Mechanized Division in Szczecin), and since 1969 he was the head of a military club in this regiment. He completed his studies at the USSR Military and Political Academy in Moscow and became deputy commander of the 41st Mechanized Regiment of Political Affairs. Since 1977 senior instructor of the organizational unit in the Political Board of the Pomeranian Military District in Bydgoszcz. In 1980 he was deputy commander of the 8th Mechanized Division for Political Affairs in Koszalin, 1982 - head of the unit - deputy head of the First Board and Organization in the Political Headquarters of the Polish Army in Warsaw. In 1983 he was appointed Colonel. From February 1987 to January 1989 deputy commander of the Warsaw Military District for Political Affairs - head of the Political Board of this district. In the autumn of 1988 General Wojciech Jaruzelski gave him the rank of brigadier general. From 23 January 1989, deputy commander of WAT for political affairs (later: educator) - head of the political faculty of the academy. He was appointed head of the Department of Education of the Republic of Poland (April 14, 1992). He was then the Head of the Polish Mission - the representative of the Republic of Poland in the rank of minister of the plenipotentiary in the Supervisory Board of the Neutral States in Korea (until 28 February 1995). Since December 1995 WOW deputy commander - commander of the WOW Command and General Organization. 1998-1999 military advisor to the head of OSCE mission in Georgia, then at the disposal of the Ministry of Defense.
