Henri Grethen
Henri Grethen (born July 16, 1950 in Esch-sur-Alzette) - Luxembourgish politician, parliamentarian, activist of the Democratic Party, in 1999-2004 minister, auditor at the European Court of Auditors. Curriculum vitae
He studied at university courses in Luxembourg, then in 1971-1975 he studied at the Université de Liège. He worked in the Luxembourg traders' federation, initially as an economic adviser, from 1981 as the general secretary of this organization.
He became involved in political activities within the Democratic Party. In the 1980s and again from 1994 to 2004 he was the secretary general of this group. In 1984, he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies for the first time. He successfully applied for reelection in the elections in 1989, 1994, 1999 and 2004. In the parliament he held, among others, the chairman of the party's faction and the vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies twice.
From 1999 to 2004, in the government headed by Jean-Claude Juncker, he was the minister of economy and minister of transport, in 2004 he was also the minister of public services. In 2008 he became a Luxembourg representative at the European Court of Auditors & gt;
