Dorieus from Rhodes
Dorieus z Rodos (Greek: Δωριεύς) - an ancient Greek athlete from the island of Rhodes, an Olympian.
He belonged to the family of famous athletes, the Olympians were his father Diagoras, the brothers Damagetos and Akusilaos and the sons of his sister Ferenike, Eukles and Pejsidoros. He won the pancration at three Olympics in a row, in 432, 428 and 424 BC. He was also proud of eight victories at the Istmijskie games, seven at the Nemean Games and probably four at the Pythian Games, including one gained by a walkover.
During the Peloponnesian war, he fought against Athens. Taken captive by the Athenians, he was freed in recognition of sports merits. When Rhodes changed alliances and went to the Athens supporters' camp, he was captured by the Spartans and executed.
