Anne-Marie Sigmund


Anne-Marie Sigmund (born August 11, 1941 in Bratislava) - Austrian lawyer and entrepreneur, President of the European Economic and Social Committee 2004-2006. Curriculum vitae

In 1963, she graduated from the University of Vienna with a degree in law practice, then practiced law as a lawyer in 1970. In 1970 she became the director of a public relations firm. In 1974 she was involved in running her own PR, advertising and communications services. Associated with economic organizations, from 1979 to 2001 was the Secretary General of the Austrian Federal Association of Professional Professions. She was an advisor to the Austrian government during the negotiations on accession to the European Union. In 1995 she became a member of the European Economic and Social Committee. From 1998 to 2004 she was the chair of Group III and from 2004 to 2006 she headed the entire committee.

Honored with the Cavalry of the Legion of Honor and the Gold Medal of Merit for the Republic of Austria.
