Prayer of sacrifice
Prayer of sacrifice (also the sacrificial prayer) - part of the Holy Mass in which the Church hands the priest through Christ to sacrifice him. It is present in the ordinary form of the Roman rite as part of the Eucharistic prayer after the Anamnes and before the Communion epicles.
The Church (especially the faithful present at the Mass) makes it through God the Father in the Holy Spirit an immaculate Host. Christ is the Sacrifice and at the same time the only and highest Priest of himself sacrifices. In turn the Church, as the Mystical Body of Christ, joins itself to this sacrifice. Through this rite, the faithful sacrifice the immortal Host, and they learn to give their lives to God, as the Communion is to bring. The sacrificial prayer takes the form: We humbly beg for the Holy Spirit to unite us all, who accept the Body and Blood of Christ. Bibliography
