Wolfgang von Kempelen


Wolfgang von Kempelen Wolfgang von Kempelen (born January 23, 1734, March 26, 1804) is a Hungarian baron, engineer, physicist, counselor of the court of the Austrian Empress Maria Theresa.

The fountain system in Schönbrunn Palace Park, the design of the canal connecting the Danube to the Adriatic, built a writing instrument for the blind, a doll capable of pronouncing words and sentences. He gained his reputation as the creator of the Turkai Mechanical.

He was a polyglot and published the 1791 Mechanism of Human Speech. Bibliography
