Repeat test method

Repeat test method (or test-retest) - used in psychometry to measure the reliability of the psychological test used. It consists in making a measurement by means of a test and then repeating the test with the same test in the same group of subjects after a specified time. The results of the first test and the second test (retest) are compared. The more the results of both tests are similar, the greater the reliability of the tool used.

The use of test-retest allows you to answer the question of how stable (repeatable) over time are the results obtained with a specific test. However, this technique says nothing about the internal compatibility of the test. Theoretically, the test may give stable results over time and at the same time the level of its internal consistency may be negligible, which will testify to the small reliability of the tool.
