Portrait of a man in a foxtail

Portrait of a man in a crimson - oil painting by a Polish painter Roman Kochanowski from around 1895.

The painting was created in the period when the artist permanently lived in Munich. Works created after 1881 often touched on reality and memories from Poland, for which Kochanowski missed him. In his works, genre scenes showing the life of the village near Krakow and presenting the types encountered there were returned.

An older man portrayed in a painting is wearing a red coat, with a black cap on his head, from which the name of the work is taken. The portrait is in a private collection.
