Philipp Jaffé (born 17 February 1819 in Swarzędz, died 3 April 1870 in Wittenberg) is a Jewish historian and publisher of historical sources. Curriculum vitae

He was born in Swarzędz with his father, Elijah Jaffé (a Poznan merchant). He graduated from junior high school in Poznań and later studied medicine in Berlin. Historian, expert in papal diplomacy and source explorer. In 1851 he published his extensive work "Regesta Pontificum Romanorum ab condita Ecclesia ad annum p. 1198", which contains over 11,000 papal documents.
