She was a Ukrainian, from 1921 she lived in Kursek, where she finished 7th grades of an incomplete high school, later she studied at the aviation technical school in Voronezh and in October 1933 she graduated from an aeroclub in Voronezh. From 1933 she served in the Red Army, in 1934 she graduated with honors from the aviation school in Orenburg and was sent to the 19 Brigade of Light Bombers Kharkiv, 1939-1940 as the only woman-female participant in the war with Finland, she made eight fights, destroying, among others . artillery battery and supply warehouse. From June 22, 1941, she fought in the war with Germany, flew 40 combat flights and fought 12 air battles as the deputy commander of the 5th Squadron of the 135th Bomber Aviation Division of the 16th Mixed Aviation Division of the 6th Army of the Southwest Front to the rank of senior lieutenant. On September 12, 1941, during an air combat, she plundered her German airplane Me-109, dedicating her life. She was the only woman who performed ramming an enemy machine by plane.
