Sociology of science
Sociology of science (sociology of scientific knowledge) is one of the branches of detailed sociology. As Paweł Rybicki pointed out, "Sociology of science does not recognize science in terms of products and systems of knowledge, it does not directly examine their content. Sociology deals with people who study science, their activities, the social relationships that they make between people in science and their association with the broader community. "
The subject of sociology of science is Robert Merton's dynamic interdependence between science as a lasting social activity leading to the emergence of cultural and civilization products, and the structure of society in which this science develops. The scope of research in sociology of science thus approached it in the sociology of knowledge.
Empirical research within the sociology of science is also reflected in the analysis of practices among the scientific community as well as the relationships between people and objects (eg actor-network theory).
