Pawel Gałeczka
Pawel Gałeczka (born July 13, 1902 in Chorzów, died December 22, 1970) - a steelworker, social activist and trade unionist. Curriculum vitae
Born on July 13, 1902 in Chorzów, a working-class family. He graduated from high school and as a fourteen-year-old he started working as a lap-pupil. As a 17-year-old he became a locksmith, but after five years of work he was released. He was recruited after eight months.
Freie Arbeiter Union left-leaning trade union activist (note the convergence of the name with the anarcho-syndicalist federations federation in the Federal Republic of Germany in 1970) until they were resolved.
Before the outbreak of World War II, in 1934-1939, Vice-Chairman of the Chorzów branch of the Union of Metalworkers in Katowice. Member of the Works Council in the Chorzów steelworks, activist of the singing movement.
During the occupation he was active in the resistance movement as a soldier of the People's Guard of the Polish Socialist Party.
After the war, PPR activist. From 1945 he was responsible for the administrative director of the "Malapanew" steelworks in Ozimek in Opole for four years.
