Paraskeas Awjerinos, gr. (Born 19 August 1927 in Alonissia) Curriculum vitae

Graduate of Medicine at the National University of. Kapodistrias in Athens. Until 1981 he practiced as a physician in Athens. In 1974 he was among the founders of the Panhellenian Socialist Movement. Until 2004 he was a member of the Central Committee, including a dozen or so years in the executive committee of PASOK. From 1981 to 1984 he was the Minister of Health, then the 1984 Minister without Portfolio in the Cabinet Andreas Papandreou. From 1984 to 1999, he held the mandate of a MEP for three terms, belonging to the Socialist factions. He performed, among others. the role of Vice-President of the Commission for Regional Policy and Regional Planning, and from 1993 to 1999 Vice-President of the European Parliament III and IV. In the years 2000-2004 he was a Member of the Hellenic Parliament of the 10th term. He represented the National Parliament in the European Convention.
