Danica Simšič (born February 22, 1955 in Ljubljana) - Slovenian journalist and politician, parliamentarian, Mayor of Ljubljana in the years 2002-2006. Curriculum vitae

She completed her studies in the field of Slovenian Philology at the University of Lublin. She worked at Radiotelevizija Slovenija (initially on radio, later on television) as news anchor, reporter and publisher. Then she was the presenter and editor of the main television news program Dnevnik TV.

In the 1990s, she became involved in politics. In the years 1992-1996 the Democratic Party of Slovenia held a mandate to the National Assembly. In 1997 she applied for the mayor's office, taking 3rd place. In 2000 he was re-elected to the Slovenian parliament, this time candidate from the United Social Democratic Party. In December 2002 she won the mayor election in Ljubljana. It remained until November 2006. It remained a Member of the City Council for several years.
