Roger de La Fresnaye
Roger de La Fresnaye (born 11 July 1885 in Le Mans, died 27 November 1925 in Grasse) is a French painter.
He attended the Académie Julian private painting school in Paris. Initially his work was inspired by the style of nabists, then became a representative of Cubism. In 1911, at the Salon of the Independent, he proposed a relaxed version of cubism (à la française), visible mainly in his landscapes. At the end of his life he abandoned Cubism and created works resembling metaphysical painting. Bibliography
