Transversal pitch
Gradual transversal on the map from 1852.
Transversal pitch (sometimes erroneously complex pitch) - much more complicated than linear pitch, although its construction is based on it. At present it is not drawn on maps, and cartographers rarely redraw it, because in their work they use ready-made, engraved on the brass plaque size 250 × 40 mm. Most often have 4 finished scales of 1: 500, 1: 1000, 1: 2000, 1: 5000. It is best to start with a linear scale and set a base pitch of 10, 100 or 1000 m. Once you have constructed such a scale from its individual points, you should extend the perpendicular lines.
