International Federation of Landscape Architects
The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) is an international association of landscape architects. Activity
The main goal of IFLA is to coordinate works and projects created by professional landscape architects from associated countries, and to ensure their effective implementation through mutual engagement and mediation between parties participating in international projects or funding them. History IFLA was formed in Cambridge in 1948, its first president was Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe. Initially, it comprised fifteen founding countries, including Poland, represented by Alina Scholtz (representing the Association of Polish Architects (SARP)). In 1978 the structure of the organization was changed, divided into branches operating on different continents. IFLA Africa, IFLA Americas, IFLA Asia-Pacific and IFLA Europe were established, and IFLA World became the IFLA World, with its headquarters in Versailles, France, followed by Brussels. Each year an IFLA convention is held, with representatives from 71 Member States representing more than 25,000 architects.
