The municipality of Turol lies in the Kolneńskie district, and thus is one of the two communes (next to the Zbójna) of Kurpie located beyond the borders of Mazowieckie Province. It does not change the fact that together with the whole old land of Lomza remains a part of historical Mazovia. This area of Zagajnica was populated at the latest, but the occupation of the local population was the same as in other areas of the Kurpie Forest. Among them, the place was occupied by bartering, and in the area of Turośl Municipality are certified at least three places where amber was extracted.
