Victoria Valverde González


Victoria Valverde González (born April 20, 1888 in Vicálvaro, January 12, 1937) is a Spanish nun, martyr and blessed Catholic. Curriculum vitae

Francisca Inés de la Antigua was born on April 20, 1888. She was a student at the Orphanage of the Daughters of Charity. She joined the Institute of the Calasanis, the Sister of the Divine Pastor, and on August 28, 1910 she adopted the name Victoria and on September 17, 1916 she made a religious profession. After the outbreak of civil war in Spain she was sent to prison and was shot in the cemetery of Las Casillas near Martos. Its remains lie in the sanctuary of the Nuestra Señora de la Villa in Martos.

Beatified in a group of 522 martyrs on October 13, 2013 in Tarragona.
