Paul Torday (born 1 August 1946, 18 December 2013) is a British writer, businessman specializing in maritime engineering.
He debuted at the age of 60 with a humorous novel "Salmon Fishing in Yemen" (2007), which sold more than half a million copies in the UK alone. The book was in 2011 screened by Lasse Hallström under the title of Catching Happiness in Yemen. In the last years of his life he suffered from cancer, but he published at least one book every year.
