Jan Mendel
Jan Mendel (born December 6, 1933 in Bielsko-Biała) - Polish mechanical engineer and communist activist, deputy to the Sejm of the 6th parliamentary term. Curriculum vitae
From 1957 he worked at the "Bispol" Bolt Factory in Bielsko-Biała, where he was successively a helper of the automatic setter, setter, workshop technologist, departmental technologist and deputy chief technologist. In 1965 he became a graduate of extramural studies at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. In 1966, he was transferred to Lewin Brzeski, where he became the chief engineer in the branch of the plant in order to launch a new production profile.
Until 1964 he was a member of the Socialist Youth Union. He was active in the Polish United Workers' Party, where in 1965 he became the second secretary of the POP and lecturer in party training in "Bispol". In 1969, he was a member of the Town Committee of the party in Lewin Brzeski, as well as in the ideological committee at the PZPR Poviat Committee in Brzeg. He was also the chairman of the Municipal and Communal Committee of the Front of the Unity of the Nation in Lewin Brzeski and the president of the local Sports Club "Olimpia" and the Volunteer Fire Brigade. In 1972, he was elected to the Sejm of the Polish People's Republic in the district of Nysa. He sat on the Maritime Economy and Shipping Committee and in the Heavy and Machine Industry Committee.
