Herman Saltups


Hermanis Saltups (born 16 May 1901 in Riga, died 27 January 1968 in Riga) - Latvian psychiatrist, football player.

He studied medicine at the University of Vienna and the University of Halle. In 1936, as the first doctor in Latvia, he introduced schizophrenia and insulin therapy. Results announced next year. He was the goalkeeper of Latvia's first national football team and participated in the first international match of the Latvian national team (September 24, 1922).

He is buried in Riga's Forest Cemetery.
