She graduated in 1998 at the University of National and World Economy in Sofia. In 2000-2001, she completed post-graduate studies in financial management at George Washington University. From 1996, she worked in banking, in the years 2001-2003 she was an auditor in the Bulgarian branch of the Deloitte company. From 2003 to 2015, with breaks for the period of performing government functions, employed at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. She was involved in the organization and implementation of infrastructure investments mainly in Southeastern Europe, including the use of EU funds. She chaired the board of directors of the MIDF urban infrastructure development fund.

Twice as a temporary governor, she was the deputy prime minister responsible for the use of structural funds - from March to May 2013 in the office of Marina Rajkowa and from August to November 2014 in the office of Georgie Bliznaszki. In 2015, she was a director at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. In 2016 she was the deputy managing director of the European Fund for Strategic Investments, created on the initiative of the President of the European Commission.
