The southern slopes are more pale and white from the salt layer, the northern ones are earthy and sandy. There is a sausage forest. There are over 80-year-olds, 5-8 meters tall, with roots up to 10 meters deep in the ground (lateral roots up to 9 meters). Two well-accessible wells were also drilled here. The region of Yerevan is home to many eolian forms characteristic for the deserts. In addition to the saunas on the reserve there are also: white saksa, Calligonum (kandymy) and brine. There is a desert moss (Tortula desertorum) that is unfavorable to the ecosystem. The fauna represents, among others. nymphs, black-backed penguins and Phrynocephalus.
