Moses David Kirsbraun


Kirkbraun (born 1903 or 1904, died 1942 in the Ghetto in Warsaw) is a Polish mathematician, best known for his proof of the theorem known today as Kirstein's Theorem on the extension of the Lipchitz function on Hilbert spaces, which he proved in his Master's thesis in Warsaw in 1930. The extended version of his master's thesis was published in Fundamenta Mathematicae.

In 1922 he graduated from Gimnazjum im. Jan Kreczmar in Warsaw to study mathematics at Warsaw University. After completing his studies he worked as an actuary in the insurance company Przyjaźń. Bibliography
