John W. Brunius

John Wilhelm Brunius (born December 26, 1884 in Stockholm, died December 16, 1937) is a Swedish film director, actor and screenwriter.

He studied acting at the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm, where he performed many comic roles in 1904-1907. In 1907 he went to the Swedish Theater, where he worked until 1925. In the years 1926-1932 he ran the Oscarsteatern. As director of dumb movies he was the pillar of Skandia. He specialized in tasteful adaptations of literature and in costly historical shows.
