John W. Brunius


John Wilhelm Brunius (born December 26, 1884 in Stockholm, died December 16, 1937) is a Swedish film director, actor and screenwriter.

He studied acting at the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm, where he performed many comic roles in 1904-1907. In 1907 he went to the Swedish Theater, where he worked until 1925. In the years 1926-1932 he ran the Oscarsteatern. As director of dumb movies he was the pillar of Skandia. He specialized in tasteful adaptations of literature and in costly historical shows. With the soundtrack he resigned from directing and stopped acting. Selected filmography
