Han Pil-hwa


Han Pil-hwa (born January 21, 1942 in Nampo) is a North Korean speed skater, Olympic vice-champion. Career

The greatest success of Han Pil-hwa's career came in 1964, when she finished second in the 3000 m race at the Olympic Games in Innsbruck. Only Lidija Skoblikov from the USSR was ahead of her, and the second place was taken by another Soviet competitor, Valentina Stienin. At the same Olympics was also ninth in the race at 1500 m, and in the race at 500 took 28th place. She also appeared at the Sapporo Games in 1972, but did not win a medal. Her best result was the ninth place at a distance of 3,000 m. She never won the World Cup medal. Its best result was the fifth place won at the Oulu multi-field championship in 1965. Bibliography
