Born in the village of Vina, he set out for youth in Belgrade, where he founded an acrobatic corpse, which soon gained enormous popularity in Yugoslavia and in Europe. He was the author of the screenplay, director, producer and actor in the first Yugoslavian soundtrack "Nebivost bez bezštite" (1922). The film, made by private funds Alexis and his friends, played only 6 actors and 3 actresses. Very popular, gathering more audiences from the German propaganda films displayed at this time, which led to the picture of it from the posters one year after the first projection. After the war, his participation in the film caused the accusation by the new communist authorities to collaborate with the Germans. The court cleared him of charges in 1945.

He showed great courage, skill and physical strength, breaking and biting steel chains, bending iron rods, riding monocles on rope, flying under the air in a line held in his teeth, and other stunts at unprotected levels. During his acrobatic career he donated considerable sums to charities. He died in extreme poverty at a nursing home in Belgrade.
