Szczęsny Rutkowski
Landscape with river Szczęsny Rutkowski (born August 15, 1887 in Upper Slaughter near Wloclawek, died December 2, 1940 in Dachau Concentration Camp) - Polish painter, publicist and art critic.
Szczęsny Rutkowski began his studies in 1915 at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts. He continued his studies at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts and in Paris and Rome. He was the creator of the Warsaw Club's "Pod Pikadorem" (1918) and Futurists Club in the European Hotel (1919).
In the twenties he took part in the Formist exhibitions.
He studied history and art criticism. He was the author of the monographs by Edward Wittig and Jacek Mierzejewski.
He collaborated with "Tygodnik Illustrated", "Polish Courier", "Świat" and "Dom Osiedle Mieszkania" monthly "Rój". In the years 1933-1935 he was the director of the Institute of Art Propaganda. Artworks Bibliography
