Point-two-part correlation coefficient
Point-two-dollar correlation coefficient - one of the measures of dependence, a coefficient defining the level of dependence on the one hand with a continuous and quantitative variable and, on the other hand, a nominal and dichotomous variable (at the base of which there is no continuum, eg gender). This coefficient can be calculated in two ways: using the formula for the point-two-point correlation coefficient or (similarly as in the case of the fi coefficient), to reset the nominal variable to take values 0 and 1 (eg female 0, male 1; dummy coding), then count the Pearson's linear correlation coefficient for both variables.
Application example: relationship between gender (values: woman and man) and the result of the maths exam (values: from 0 to 100). Bibliography
