He was born in a NANJAN fisherman's family. He had an incomplete secondary education, he worked as a reading room manager and teacher, in 1941 he joined the Red Army. From July 27, 1941, he took part in the battles of the war with Germany, first at Tikhvin, then later on Uganda, Desna, Sozem, Dnieper and Berezina, where he was a scout. During the night of June 22, 1944, he completed a special combat mission during the Dnieper crossing, for which he received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
