Wladyslaw Kowalski (countryman)
Władysław Kowalski (born February 17, 1921 in Dobczyce, died 1993) is a Polish tourist, honorary member of the Polish Tourist and Tourism Association.
He was born into a family of craftsmen. In Dobczyce he graduated from elementary school. In the years 1934-1939 he worked in the shop of the local Agricultural Wheel (1938-1939 also taught in the local gymnasium). In 1939 he fought as a volunteer under Hrubieszow. From 1941 to 1944 he cooperated with the National Army. After World War II, he undertook studies at the Jagiellonian University (Department of Geography and Ethnography). He defended his master's thesis in 1953 (Dobczyce socio-economic monograph). This work led to archaeological work on the ruins of the castle in Dobczyce and a number of important discoveries in this area. He continued his work for the next few years, which brought him the nickname Kasttelana from Dobczyc (he became the custodian of the local museum). He also taught at the local elementary school since 1955. In 1969 he published Dobczyce. Past and present, and in 1989 conductor Dobczyce. PTTK Regional Museum at the Castle and Open Air Museum.
