William Henry (swimmer)


William Henry (born June 28, 1859 in London, March 20, 1928) is a British swimmer and water sports champion, Olympic champion, participant in the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris.

He was of Polish origin, born as Józef Nawrocki.

During the Olympic Games in Paris he won a gold medal in the waterball tournament with the Osborne Swimming Club. He also competed in swimming competitions at distances of 200 meters with obstacles and 4,000 meters of freestyle.

At the Summer Olympics, he won a bronze medal in a 4 × 250 m freestyle relay.

He was introduced to the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1974.
