Lesław Bodeński (born March 14, 1905 in Łańcut, died December 28, 1982 in Neptune, New Jersey) - Polish diplomat, the first director of the precursor of the Polish Section of Radio Free Europe - the station of Głos Wolna Polski (1950-1951).
Curriculum vitaeHe graduated from Gimnazjum im. Kazimierz Brodziński in Tarnów and the Faculty of Law of the Jagiellonian University (1927). From 1928 he was a contractual employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Political and Economic Department. In the years 1931-1932 he was the consular attaché at the Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Strasbourg, in the years 1932-1935 he performed the same function at the Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Lyon. In the years 1935-1939 he was the Head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From August 1, 1939, he was the first press secretary of the Polish Embassy in London, which was canceled in autumn 1939 at the request of August Zaleski, the cause of which was the preparation of the Heroic Poland war brochures and The Big Three of Poland's Drama, dedicated to Józef Beck, Edward Śmiguł. Rydz and Ignacy Mościcki.
In 1940 he was sent to Portugal as a delegate of the Polish delegation in Lisbon for the care of Polish refugees in the northern part of the country, in the years 1941-1943 he was the head of the Press Office of the Polish Consulate in New York, from August 1943 to July 1945 he was civil servant of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Supreme Commander in Washington, where he was the head of the press and political conference.
After the Second World War he remained in the USA, until 1950 he worked in industry. On May 1, 1950, he was appointed the director of the newly established broadcasting station Głos Wolnej Polski, based in New York (later transformed into the Polish Section of the Free Europe Broadcasting Station).
